How Does Freight Shipping Work?
The customer is responsible for all shipping charges other than those specifically included in the cost of goods. United Parcel Service or Federal Express shipping is available wherever product packaging conforms to carrier size and weight restrictions. For product shipments requiring delivery by common carrier motor freight (truck), AE Technologies Inc. will make arrangements with an appropriate trucking company.
AE Technologies Inc. will email the contact person listed on the billing address of each order after the product ships. This email will contain shipping information, including the shipping or trucking company name, phone number and shipment tracking number. Orders requiring freight delivery will have a delivery notice added to the order. The trucking company will call to schedule a delivery time window.
Please also note that if your item(s) require different shipping methods, your order may be shipped in multiple packages, sometimes from different locations.
Oversized items are sent via motor freight (trucking company).
NOTE: The common carrier motor freight delivery company is NOT responsible for unloading the goods from their truck or carrying the items into the building.
-
The delivery company should contact you by phone to schedule a delivery date and time window. Customer may wish to contact carrier at their local terminal.
-
Typically, there will be a minimum of a four-hour time frame window for the delivery and an adult must be available to accept, inspect, and sign for the delivery.
-
Your package is likely to be heavy and large. Therefore, we recommend that someone be available to help unload the item from the truck and carry it inside.
-
The goods will be delivered to the shipping address designated on the order.
-
The total freight charge does not include residential or inside delivery, lift gate fees, storage fees, reassignment fees, removal of cartons, or assembly.
- Product(s) becomes property of the customer as soon as it leaves our facility and the customer is responsible for filing any claims if needed, AE Technologies Inc. will work to the best of its ability to help handle any situations that may occur. We cannot however guarantee that any shipping providers decision(s) can be changed based on our assistance.
Upon Delivery:
When your order is delivered, immediately inspect the material for any damage that may have occurred during shipment. Carefully inspect the packaging as well as the contents of the package. If the goods are acceptable, please sign and date the shipping receipt.
REMINDER: A full length tractor-trailer (48'-53') cannot easily get into residential areas. The shipping company is contracted to bring the merchandise to the customer only. The customer is always responsible for unloading the equipment.
If the truck driver is uncomfortable about driving into an off loading area that he believes may be "too tight" or "too difficult to get out"...then other unloading arrangements must be made.
